Freiburg, February 19, 2026 – Starting with the 2026/27 season, the name Lexware will appear on the jerseys of German soccer club SC Freiburg. Two Freiburg success stories are coming together to write a new chapter in a partnership that has been growing since 1999. For Lexware, this represents a clear commitment to its hometown and the more than 4 million self-employed professionals in Germany.

The long-term partnership includes main and jersey sponsorship of the Bundesliga team, visibility at Europa-Park Stadium, on digital channels, and joint activations on matchdays.

A partnership with history

The collaboration between Lexware and SC Freiburg has steadily evolved over the years, progressing through various initiatives: from supporting the matchday mascots to exclusive and sleeve sponsorships, and even partnering with the Freiburg Football Academy. Becoming the main sponsor is the logical next step in a relationship built on shared values: continuity, responsibility, and long-term thinking.

Birte Hackenjos, CEO of Haufe Group, commented: “We are thrilled that Lexware, as a strong brand within our corporate group, will soon be showcased on one of the most prominent stages in the country. We share a common set of values with SC Freiburg. This partnership underscores our deep connection to the region, whose development we have been actively shaping for many years.”

“Our joint journey with Lexware, from a partner of the Freiburg Football Academy to sleeve sponsor and now main sponsor, is an extraordinary story in German professional football. Having a regional partner who is also a market leader across Germany in their segment highlights SC Freiburg’s appeal to modern, medium-sized brands,” said Oliver Leki, Board Member of SC Freiburg.

Christian Steiger, Managing Director of Lexware, highlighted the entrepreneurial perspective: “Over 4 million self-employed professionals in Germany do what they love every day. We take care of their paperwork. With this partnership, we’re showing up where many of them passionately cheer week after week.”
