Future Skills

Learning that makes the future tangible

FUTURE

For us, social responsibility means helping people to cope well with change – because the future will not just happen someday, it’s happening now.

In the form of the Future Skill Journey, we offer Haufe Group employees a targeted training program designed to build their future-oriented skills. As one of several development formats, the Journey provides an opportunity to try new things, enhance capabilities and gain orientation regarding the current and future working world.

Future Skill:

Decision-making

Job:

Spokesperson,
Haufe Akademie

"There is no single future. There are many possible ones."

I had already engaged with future skills professionally – experiencing them firsthand was a different story. I was fascinated by the idea of “futures”: that there isn’t just one way forward. In my day-to-day work I make decisions in complex and dynamic situations, and the Journey helped me become more aware of uncertainty while still being capable of taking action.

That bolsters me both professionally and personally.

“I don’t want to just react. I want to create.”

I'm curious by nature and love diving deep into topics – but the pace at which things evolve and shift keeps challenging me. The Future Skill Compass helped me sharpen my focus. What matters most to me: Future Skills don't prepare you for 'one single' future - they make you adaptable. These days, I think less in fixed plans and more in possibilities. That gives me confidence and motivates me to actively shape what's ahead.

Hands-on

Future Skills bridge learning and day-to-day application at work.

Flexible

The Future Skill Journey is designed as a self-directed learning journey, not as a rigid training program.

VIKTORIA

Future Skill:

Self-empowerment

Job:

Project Manager,
Haufe Group

“The future doesn’t start with a test, but with the question of who I want to be.”

Personal growth is essential to me – as a person and in my role as a project manager. At the start, I chose my skill based on what seemed most relevant to my day-to-day work. As the journey progressed, though, I shifted my focus. The turning point was a question: How will my job change in the future – and how do I want to show up in it? I realized I wanted to strengthen my sense of self-efficacy. Making things happen is part of who I am. And that takes trust in my own abilities. This journey helped me build exactly that trust.

PATRICK

Future Skill:

Communication expertise

Job:

Service Design Manager,
Haufe Group

“Change often starts in small ways. And that’s exactly where we can start.”

I wanted to better understand how to create more impact in my role. Communication is my most important tool – especially when bridging different teams and perspectives. Through this journey, I learned to listen more intentionally and seek out feedback more actively. My key insight: it's not sweeping transformations, but many small, targeted shifts that meaningfully improve collaboration – and make the future something you can actually shape.

Four paths,
four skills.

1

One insight.

The future becomes tangible when we start.
When we keep to learning.

And when we take ownership of our own development.
